Alex Rodriguez’s 660th home run made me forget that other guy’s name

he’s still getting asterisks by every one of his ‘accomplishments’ miss me on this.

When I was young, my grandfather used to tell me about a ballplayer who patrolled center field at a bunch of ballparks that don’t exist anymore. Supposedly he was pretty good — maybe the best player grandpa ever saw — but I can’t remember any other details about the guy.

And guess what? It doesn’t matter. Alex Rodriguez has 660th home runs now. My brain only has the capacity to name up to four baseball players total, so I reserve it for the four top home run hitters of all time and no one else — opting for the most recent player in the instance of ties. Sorry, old timers.
